This little porcelain bisque bride and groom was probably from the 1920’s. The tiny couple are hand painted and dressed in formal wedding attire. The bride’s full length veil has little green dots over the top of her head. Her arm is interlocked with her husband. He’s dressed in a matte black tuxedo. Considering their size the facial detail is very nice. They are attached to a decorative piece that I believe to be cake icing. Sprigs of little cloth flowers are inserted behind the in the base and a bird cage arch holds a bell overhead. The bell is cover with clear beads that are generally referred to as Coralene and there is a tiny bead clapper so the bell actually makes a little ringing sound.
The couple measure about 2 1/8” tall and they are in good condition with no damage to the bisque. Their feet, like the disk base, have some brown discoloration from age. It measures about 5 1/8” high to the top of the bell hanger and the decorative disk measures about 2 3/8” in diameter. The flowers are slightly faded and/or discolored from age. They do small a bit musty, probably from being wrapped up for decades.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
