This is an old figural planter made by the Shawnee Pottery Co. of Ohio. It has a sweet, Oriental girl in a seated position, with a book propped in her lap. The little planter has nice pastel colors, all under glaze. On the bottom it is marked; U.S.A. with the mold number 574. Taped to the bottom is a strip of paper that reads; Hazel Marshall 191955? (1-9-1955) To Wilma. I believe the date is pretty accurate for dating this piece.
It measures about 3 ¼” high to the top of her coolie hat and about 3 ¼” wide across the front and 4” deep, front to back. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
