This old pitcher was made by the Schafer & Vater Company of Germany in the early 1900's. It's a humorous piece with what looks like a seated, Oriental child making a funny-face, stretching its mouth outward with his fingers, exposing a mouthful of teeth. The eyes are bulging and the chubby bare feet come up to the chin. Its hair is pulled back and the queue makes the handle of the pitcher. It has nice colors and detail and all of the characteristics of an S & V piece. It is marked on the bottom with the S & V crown mark.
It measures about 3 3/8" high and is in very good condition with no damage. There is some black paint on the right side of the face and some green paint on the left foot, both appear to have been done in the manufacturing.
