This old photograph of a rather risqué nude is a larger format than an old postcard and fits more closely with the very long cabinet style. The young woman is dramatically posed with bent knees and raised arms. Her auburn tinted hair is short with Marseille styled waves. Her cheeks are blushed and her lips are dark pink. A string of brightly tinted turquoise beads drape across her breast and over her hip. She wears only a pair of simple pump shoes and it appears she's seated on a bench with a maroon crushed velvet cushion. I believe this is considered a hand tinted, gelatin silver print. The style and size are similar to photos by the photographer Charles Wesley Gilhousen (1867-1929) but this has no copyright or other identifying information.
It measures about 3 ¾” by 7 5/8” which doesn’t quite fit the Paris panel or promenade card criteria. It is in good condition with minimal edge and corner wear and minor scuff wear to the dark matte surface.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
