This pretty porcelain bowl is an old souvenir from Sprague, Washington. In the center is a decal of a two-story brick building. Beneath the picture it reads; High School, Sprague, Wash.. The embossed outer edge of the bowl is painted a pink lusterware and both the pink and white portions are enhanced with gold. On the back it is stamped Whealock – Made in Germany especially for John Kleba, Sprague, Wash. John Kleba apparently owned a paint shop in Sprague in the late 1800’s which was lost to fire along with most of the town in 1895.

The shallow bowl measures about 8” in diameter and sits 1 5/8” high. It is in nice condition with minimal wear to the decal but there are a few hairline cracks in the middle of the bowl. They are most noticeable on the back but can be seen, if examined closely, on the front. I have made note of them in the photos.
