This old clock is typical of something you might have seen on the T.V. set in the 1950’s or 60’s and it is fashioned such that it could have been used as a trophy from a bowling league. It is made of wood and white metal with a gold finish. The clock is mounted in the middle of a bowling pin. To the left is a large disk with three metal spots representing a bowling ball. Across the bottom of the two pieces is a rendition of an automatic ball return. In front of the black disk is a bowler in perfect form for knocking down the three metal pins to the right of the wood pin. The pieces are mounted to a base that has a thin protective piece across the bottom. It has a United electric movement with a convex glass over the face. On the back is the knob for setting the clock. It has a model number 449 and it was manufactured by the United Clock Corp of Brooklyn New York. It appears to have its original cord. Whether it is used in a bar, den or man cave it is funky 50’s-60’s décor that is both functional and fun.
Overall it measures 14 ¾” wide and about 12 ¼” to the top of the wooden pin. It is in very nice condition with minimal scuff and nick wear. I ran it for several days and it seems to keep fairly accurate time. There are two holes in the protection strip on the bottom and I am assuming someone tightened the screws holding the bowling ball disk onto the base.
It works as stated but is a vintage appliance and is being sold as-is with no guarantees and care should always be taken when using vintage electrical items.
