This simple little menu is from the Toddle House quick service restaurant chain that was known for its blue roof and stainless steel counter service. They specialized in breakfast but were open 24 hours and had a small but varied menu. The front of the menu has a stylized rendition of the restaurant façade. Inside the menu is fun with Everyday Specials like 2 eggs with toast for 45c, 3 strips of bacon for 25c a Toddle House waffle for 40c. Coffee and tea were a dime and all other beverages were 15c. The most expensive meal was the filet mignon which came with a toasted bun, hash browned potatos lettuce, tomato and mayo. There are 3 presumed “special”, printed in color that are stapled to the top edge of the folding menu. Several of the prices have been modified, most by a nickel, by being written in ink over the printed price. The back of the menu has a map of the eastern United States which shows some of the locations. It’s not dated but I believe it is from the late 1950’s or the early 1960’s.
It measures about 5” by 8” in its closed state and 8” by 12” when fully opened. It is in fairly nice condition with light edge and corner wear, some scuffs and stains.
