This single hub cap is a Genuine Studebaker accessory with the original, albeit very dirty envelope sleeve. This is the smaller hubcap and not the full wheel cover. I think it is from the early 1950’s and probably from one of the Commander Starliner Regal Starlight models, perhaps the coupe. The slightly cone disk has an indent in the center that has a gold or brass colored finish to contrast the chrome exterior. The paper sleeve reads; Genuine Studebaker Parts Accessories – Longer Life – Superior Performance Best for Studebaker Cars.
The outside diameter measures about 10 ½” and the interior diameter is just under 10” There is a ¾” high rim with a ¼” trim before the slope of the cone. The indent measures about 4” in diameter. It is in very nice condition with a tiny dent as noted on the photo, and very minimal spotted discoloration (almost like tiny water spots). I have not tried cleaning or polishing it because it looks too good and original. The sleeve measures about 12 ¾” square, open at the top. It is very grimy and dirty but it’s kept the hubcap clean for a lot of years.
