This simple safety razor is an old Keen Kutter. The Keen Kutter logo is on the face of the razor and the bottom edge has 1905 and 1907 patent dates. The lower beard guard pulls down and off to replace the blade which is a rather precarious undertaking. There is a razor in it which has no markings. The razor comes in the original leatherette covered box with a snapping lid and a snap that also has the logo. The inside of the lid has the Keen Kutter trademark and the bottom has a purple, velveteen lined compartment which may have held additional razor blades or other accoutrements besides the razor.
The razor measures about 3 7/8” long by 1 ½” wide and it is in nice condition with minimal wear. The metal on the razor has minimal discoloration and no rust. The box measures about 4 ¼” by 2” by 1 1/8” high and it is in nice condition with light wear to the edges and corners. The front flap near the snap has a small tear.
