This old dinner menu is from the S.S. Argentina and it is from Wednesday, March 4th 1959. The cover of the menu was done by Ada Peacock, an illustrator artist known for her bold watercolors depicting Argentine people in authentic costume. This one is very colorful and it is titled Uruguay, Gaucho of 1860. The menu for dinner on this particular day is printed on the inside in what appears to be Spanish, English and Portuguese. The menu was diverse with many different courses and options. The Argentina was apparently a luxury ocean liner with south American service out of Panama. The back has the logo for the Moore - McCormack Lines. This would be a great piece framed.
The menu measures about 9” by 12” in its closed state and is in nice condition with some edge and corner wear, light soiling and age discoloration. The bottom corners of the inside are stained.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
