This old cup and saucer have fun, rather rustic graphics with a western theme but no mention of the restaurant it was from. One side of the cup has a bearded man pulling a cart and the reverse side of the cup has a fat groundhog or prairie dog. The saucer has the same image of the rodent but the bearded man is standing with his rifle. Both pieces have the painter’s palette logo for the Wellsville China Co. of Ohio. This design is similar to that company’s Thirst Quench pattern which was produced for restaurants during the 1950’s and 1960’s. I would imagine that is the time period of these pieces.
The cup measures about 2 ½” high and the top measures about 3 3/16” in diameter and the saucer measures about 5 5/8” in diameter. Both pieces are in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
