This old bill hook is made of cast metal which is painted dull gold. It has a nice design with a deco influence. At the top there is a key-hole shaped hole so it can be hung over a nail on the wall. The steel spike does not appear to have been painted but if it had been the paint has worn off during the many years of use. This type of hook was often used in old stores or offices for accumulating receipts and bills. They still help to keep some of the clutter off the desk and off the kitchen counter. It has no markings on the back.
It measures about 4 5/8” high with the spike sticking up slightly more than the back plate and it measures about 3” at the widest. It is in nice condition with some loss of paint, particularly on the spike as previously stated and a few dark areas of discoloration and/or rust.
