This little piece may looks like a butter pat but it was made by the Frankoma Potteries of Oklahoma as a Christmas card. The practice of sending pottery Christmas cards to friends of the Frank family began in 1944. This one is from 1975 and is called Year of the Potter. It is done in the White Sand glaze over the lighter Sapulpa clay. The small plate shows the hands of a potter turning a small pot. This was designed by Joniece Frank. The back reads; The Franks - Frankoma 1975 - Christmas. It was the last card to bear "The Franks".
It measures about 3 1/8” in diameter and is in very good condition showing no wear or damage.
