This old peanut butter tin originally contained 12 ounces of Advo Peanut Butter but it was meant to be kept around and used in the kitchen as a measuring cup. The side opposing the logo and name of McCord-Brady Co. of Omaha Nebraska has a wide tin handle. Both sides are marked with two increments. On one side is 1 Tea Cup and ½ Tea Cup. The other side has ½ Pint and ¼ Pint. This probably had a pry out style lid which would have been discarded once the peanut butter was gone and the measuring cup started being used. I believe this is from the early 1900’s.
The tin measures about 2 ¾” high and 3 ¾” in diameter excluding the handle. Overall is in very nice condition with good color and gloss and minimal scuff and scratch wear. The red in the triangle is a thin, metallic paint which doesn’t show as such in the photos. It is lighter than the photos and it and the metallic gold have tiny dark flecks that aren’t showing up in the photos. There is a little discoloration to the inside, bottom and handle of the tin which can be seen in the photos.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
