This old pedestal mug is from the Monterey House. This may be the restaurant in northern California or possibly the chain in Texas. On either side is the Monterey House logo with a man wearing a sombrero driving a donkey cart. The white cup is trimmed with an airbrushed accent band of dark pink. On the bottom is the Shenango China logo, New Castle PA, U.S.A. copyright by Interpace. There is a letter D and a date code of G-34 which would indicate it was made in 1976.
It measures about 4 ¼” high and 3 3/8” in diameter at the top. It is in very good condition with minimal wear. There is a small paint blob in the airbrushed edge which is a manufacturing flaw and there is a tiny nick at the edge of the bubble. I have shown an enlargement in the photos.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
