The key to opening a bottle of wine is having a good corkscrew and this key should fill the bill. The key is solid brass and quite substantial in weight. The spiral shaft screws into the cylinder which has a piece that resembles a G at the end. The handle looks like a squished heart and looks like it might also work as a bottle cap opener. Along one edge of the “G” there are a series of tiny dots that appear to read; INDIA 2816P.
The key measures about 4 ¼” in length and about 1 9/16” across the handle. The spiral measures about 1 ¾” long. It is in good condition with minor wear and discoloration and a natural, unpolished patina. When the two pieces are screwed together snugly the handle and the “G’ are not quite parallel to one another.
