This small button hook folds into a tidy package with the hook concealed. One side reads; Mandels Fascinating Slippers and the other side reads; Los Angeles, San Francisco. One side of the shank has a 1904 patent date and the other side appears to read; J.L.S. Mfg. Co. Newark, N.J.. Along the thin edge it is very faintly stamped; Snap On Your Key Ring. Small tokens of appreciation like free button hooks and shoehorns used to be commonplace when making the purchase from fine department stores and shoe shops.
It measures about 2 3/8” by 5/8” in the closed position or 4 3/8” long when fully open. It is in good original condition with minimal wear or discoloration to the plating.
