This old novelty flashlight is called an "Ox" Extensive Case. The ox trademark is pictured on the end cap of the flashlight and on the box. In its standard size, 6 7/8” long, it takes 2 “D” cell batteries and uses a 2.4v bulb. By unscrewing the middle section the body lengthens to 9” and now takes 3 “D” cell batteries and a 3.6v bulb for more light. The additional bulb is stored in the end cap which also as a ring that pulls out and then swivels up so it can be attached to something if needed. The switch has three different position; Off, Steady and Flash. In the flash mode the small button can be dressed to turn it off and on in a flashing fashion which would come in handy for sending morse code! Both the flashlight and the box are marked; Made In Hong Kong. I believe this dates from the 1950's or 1960's.
The flashlight is in very good working condition as shown in the photos. The metal is free of rust. It has its original front lens and the glass is not cracked or broken. It comes with both bulbs but Batteries Are Not Included. The box has nice graphics but shows some crease and small tear wear.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
