These old postcards are souvenirs of Long Beach California. Both cards appear to be hand tinted photo postcards.
The first one shows the hustle and bustle of the Pike in its heyday of the 1920’s. The view is of the amusement park full of people and colorful umbrellas. The top edge of the card reads; Crowds on the Pike, Long Beach, Cal. No stamp, postmark or correspondence on the back. It measures 3 3/8” by 5 5/16” and is in nice condition with light edge, corner and crease wear.
The second card is titled; Watching the Bathers, Long Beach, Calif. It has large umbrellas in the forefront and the roller coaster known as the Cyclone Racer in the background. Published by the Western Publishing & Novelty Co. of Los Angeles. There is correspondence in ink on the back with no stamp but a 1925 postmark. It measures about 3 1/2” by 5 3/8” and is nice condition with light edge wear and soiling.
Priced and sold as the pair.
