This pretty cup and saucer is from the Reinhold Schlegelmilch factories of Tillowitz. The thin white china has a blush of ivory and is decorated with white flowers with a hint of pink that resemble magnolia flowers. The outer edge of the saucer and the top edge of the cup are enhanced with a gold deco boarder. On the bottom of the cup is the blue under glaze RS Germany wreath mark identified as Mark 8 in the Collector's Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia by Mary Frank Gaston. The saucer has the same mark but it also has the red Reinhold Schlegelmilch Tillowitz Germany mark and Hand Painted. It is also faintly incised with the word Germany and in gold it is stamped; General Variety Ass.
The saucer measures about 5 ½” in diameter and the cup measures about 3 ¼” in diameter excluding the handle and about 2” high. Both pieces are in very good condition with minimal wear to the gold on the rim edge of both the cup and saucer. There are no chips or cracks.
