This is an old flower frog in the shape of a water lily with a frog coming out of the center. The frog is perched on a lily pad which is atop a few flower blossoms and stems that wind their way around the base which has a lutre finish. There are five holes in the for flower arranging. The brightly colored frog and flower appear to be cold painted but the luster base is fired. The unglazed bottom it is not marked but I believe it was made in Japan.
It measures about 4 ½” high and the base measures about 4 ¾” by 3 ¼”. Overall it is in very nice condition with minor paint wear especially on the frog’s nose. There are no chips or cracks.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
