This little doll is made of painted white bisque and it was made in Germany. The head is strung through the body which is why it is called a nodder. The little boy has an inquisitive expression with side glancing eyes. He’s wearing a blue vest, yellow bow tie and brown shoes. His hat is trimmed with red and what appears to be a shamrock. He has a tiny blue flower in his hand. The back is marked; Germany and I believe it is from the early 1900’s.
This is a little version measuring about 2 ¾” high. It is in good condition with minor paint wear. It doesn’t appear to be elastic that is strung from the head to the hole below his coat tail but rather something a little bit stiff and the head wobbles some but he has no trouble standing on his own.
