This old doll is made of a wide variety of colorful pieces of cloth made into gathered circles referred to as yo-yos. The yo-yos are threaded onto a copper wire armature giving the doll floppy yet flexible torso, arms and legs. The joints also have buttons securing the connections as shown in the photos. The hands and feet are made of felt that are minimally stuffed. The molded face of either celluloid or thin plastic has the painted features of a clown with side glancing eyes. The jester style hat which frames the face has a silver colored jingle bell sewn to the tip. The wide ruffled collar helps to conceal the edge of the plastic face but it wasn’t executed very well. I believe it is hand made with love and probably from the 1960's by the look of the fabric.
It measures about 16 ½” in length and is in very nice, clean condition with minimal wear.
