This is a sharp looking old spice tin. The front and the back have the same blue, mustard and metallic gold graphics with the S within an orange diamond logo and Pure Caraway Seed. One side panel has a promo about the quality of the spice and the other panel has the company information; Packed and Guaranteed by David Spencer, Limited – Vancouver Factory. Apparently Spencer’s was a large department store in B.C. Canada during the late 1800’s and into the 1900’s. The top has a slide style lid for shaking or pouring. I believe this is from the 1920’s or 1930’s.
It measures about 2 3/8” wide by almost 1” deep by 3 ¼” tall and is in very nice condition with good color and gloss and minor scuff wear. One side has a few scratches and the side of the lid have lost most of the gold plating and is discolored but the top of the lid is shiny.
