This is a great book for anyone interested in identifying old pieces of porcelain, pottery or clay items. The Encyclopedia of U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain & Clay was written by Lois Lehner is filled with hundreds of marks and back stamps with, in many cases, a history of the manufacturing company. This is not a book filled with photographs but the line drawings of the marks are plentiful and the text is very informative. There are 634 pages including the index. The book has a 1988 copyright by the author and it was published by Collector Books, a Division of Schroeder Publishing Company. It is an excellent reference guide for identification and documentation.
It measures about 8 ¾”by 11 ¼” by 1 5/8” and it is in very good condition with minimal wear. The pages of the book are unmarked, crisp and clean and the spine is tight. The shiny hardcover shows minimal scuff wear and edge and corner wear. The previous owners name on the Contents page has been blacked out.
