This book, Laurel and Hardy is a fun and informative look at the comedy team, Laurel and Hardy. The text was by John McCabe, compiled by Al Kilgore and filmography by Richard W. Bann. It is loaded with old black and white photos and information about the old movies that the duo starred in which all began at the Hal Roach Studios. The pictures capture the sensitivity as well as the slapstick nature of the two through the decades that they entertained us. There are 400 pages which includes a tribute to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy by noted people like Eddie Cantor, Lenny Bruce, Danny Kaye, Lou Costello and Dick Van Dyke. The book has a 1975 copyright by Richard Feiner & Co by permission of Hal Roach Studios, Inc. and it was published by E.P. Dutton of New York. The hardbound book comes with its original dust jacket.
It measures about 8 5/8” by 11” by 1 ¼” and it is in good condition with minor wear. The pages of the book are clean and crisp and the spine is tight. The cloth hardcover is in very good condition with minimal edge and corner wear. The dust cover has served its purpose but it has taken some abuse with yellowing, tears and general wear. A tear on the front bottom edge has been repaired with scotch tape.
