This little enamel chamber pot would have been used by a small potty training child. The cream colored enamel is trimmed in green and on the front is a depiction of the nursery rhyme Ding Dong Bell (Dell) with a little kitty being pulled from the well. As one version of the rhyme goes;
Ding, dong, bell,
Pussy’s in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Flynn.
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
The pot has a small handle with no other graphics other than the nursery rhyme picture and i’s caption; Who pulled her out? Little Johnny Stout.
It measures about 5 ¾” in diameter excluding the handle by about 3 ½” high and is in very nice condition with minimal overall wear. The enamel is glossy with minimal scuff wear or stains. There are a few chips, mostly on the green rim and I have shown the worst in the photos.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
