This is an unusual old hanger with a portion that was probably used to hang up old trousers. It has wide loop for the shoulder bar which would best accommodate the broad shoulders of a gentleman’s suit. Both sides of the pant bar can be released from the small loop at each end to slide the fabric over the bar and then clamped in place to hold it securely. It appears that the steel has a plating, probably zinc. It would make a nice display with vintage clothing. I believe it is probably from the early 1900’s.
It measures about 15 ¼” across the widest point and about 7 5/8” from the top of the hook to the bottom rod. It is in nice condition with minor wear and discoloration.
