This beautiful orange semi-truck is an old Tonka Allied Van Lines with a custom decal on the trailer. It is built of heavy gauge steel with a baked enamel finish and apparently the color was called Omaha Orange. It is based on the Ford F series trucks with some artist license taken. This front grill and single headlights style cab was issued by Tonka in 1957. The tractor has dual wheels on the back under the hitch pad. Both doors have the factory applied weight decals. The trailer has the factory decals for Allied Van Lines, Inc. on both sides and the Allied name is on both the front and back of the trailer. A painted black band wraps around the waist which reads Nation Wide Moving on the opposing sides. These trucks were sold by toy retailers but they were also offered as premiums and distributed by specific moving companies and this is one of those special trucks. On each side of the trailer is a period decal that reads; O.G. Roche Moving & Storage Pocatello & Idaho Falls. The trailer has the set of small wheels toward the front and a set of dual wheels at the back. It has a pair of operable hinged doors on the rear. On the bottom of the trailer is the original Tonka Toys Trade Mark - Mound, Minn. decal.

Overall the truck measures about 23 ½” long by 5 ¾” wide across the back of the trailer. It is in very nice original condition with good paint gloss and minor wear. There are some scratches from age and play wear but as you can see in the photos it was not heavily abused. A good deal of paint is worn where the trailer rides on the tractor and on the lower rear corners of the trailer. The decals are generally good with light scratch wear. The waist band on one side is the worst and it is also the side with the most scratches. All of the wheels and hubcaps are original and in good condition. It appears that one of the door handles may have been replaced since they are slightly different. It is not a perfect toy but it is very nice.
