This striking celluloid piece is an old luggage identification tag. The center has the initials T.P.A. or maybe it's P.T.A. and the outer edge reads; Oregon & Washington Division Headquarters - Portland, Oregon. There are actually two pieces of celluloid (both have the same advertising) held together at the bottom with a metal grommet. At the top the two pieces are held together with the original leather strap that would attach to your luggage. When the strap is removed the pieces slide to reveal the information inside. It says; Property Of and a place for Name, Street, City and State. It was made by the Whitehead - Hoag Co. of Newark, N.J. and appears to never have been used.
The celluloid portion measures about 2" in diameter and is in very good condition. The total length with the strap is about 3 3/4". The strap and its white metal buckle are also in good condition.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
