This old sterling spoon is a souvenir of Great Falls Montana High School. The inside of the bowl has a detailed scene of the elaborate high school building and it reads; High School - Great Falls, Mont.. The front of the handle is ornate with the motto; Oro y Plata, little flowers, smokestacks, a steer head, a miner and the name; Montana. The back of the handle is just as decorative with another building, more little flowers, a buffalo, a deer or elk head and the saying; For the Benefit of the People. Also on the back is the word Sterling and the MB shovel & pick hallmark for the Joseph Mayer & Bros. company of Seattle.
It measures almost 5 1/2” long and is in very nice condition with minimal wear.
