This decorative little spoon was probably sold as a souvenir of Australia. The demitasse has a decorative cast handle. At the top of the handle is a bird which looks like the lyrebird with the plumed tail fanned out. Further down the tree trunk is a bird that resembles a woodpecker but there are apparently no woodpeckers in Australia so I’m not sure what is might be. Next is a depiction of a koala which is which is almost always synonymous Australia. Lastly, climbing up the tree is a lizard, possibly the perentie which is Australia’s largest lizard. The back of the bowl is stamped; Rodd E.P.N.S. A1 and I believe it is probably from the 1960’s.
It measures about 4 1/8” long and is in very good condition with minimal wear or discoloration.
