This is an unusual wall hanging that is sometimes referred to as ribbon art. A paper doll with simple features is mounted to a black background. The young lady’s dress appears to be made of silk flower petals which are layered. Ribbon rosettes adorn her waist and hair. The doll looks a bit homemade but was apparently mass produced and used in this fashion during the 1930’s as a boudoir decoration. It is framed with a gold and black metal frame with glass over the image. The cardboard back has a small metal hanging device.
It measures just over 9” by 11” and is in good condition with minimal wear. The ribbon appears to be somewhat faded from age. The glass is in tact with no damage.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
