This white duck with a hat on his head and umbrella under his arm is ready for that "Rainy Day" we've all been told about. He stands on what looks to be a red half barrel the reads; Save for A Rainy Day. The coin slot runs down the seam on his back and opens by the screw on his right side. This vintage, figural still bank was made by the Hubley company around 1933.
The original paint is bright with good gloss but chipped. Note places such as the raised areas like the name on the front and the ribs and handle of the umbrella as well as the beak, end of the tail, both the top and brim edge of the hat and the edges of the barrel. The back of the barrel shows the worst wear with chips off the paint and some of the red is worn through to the white. There are no cracks or breaks in the cast iron. It measures about 5 3/8" high and the base is about 3 1/8" in diameter.
