This small serving bowl features a running quail in the center. The bird has hand inlaid woods and metal accents which are gold in color. It was made by Couroc of Monterey, California which is shown on the original foiled label on the back. The satin black material has the smell and characteristics of Bakelite and according to the label the material is impervious to alcohol and boiling water. The bowl makes a very nice display piece but it could also be used for dips, nuts, candies or other snacks. I believe this old Couroc Giftware is from the 1950’s - 1960’s.

It measures about 7 ¾” in diameter and sets about 1 ¼” high off the table. The dish is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
