This old figural ashtray has the bust of an iron miner with a small bowl ashtray in front. The ashtray has two depressions for cigarettes. The man is wearing a helmet with a miner’s lamp attached to it. On either side of the man’s shoulders is a chunk of rock. The caption below the bust reads; Iron Miner – Genuine Iron Ore. On the back of the miner is a 1957 copyright. Across the back of the ashtray base it reads; Anderson Specialties Stambaugh, Mich. The bottom is not covered so it shows that this is made of a plaster material, painted on the top but not on the bottom.
It measures about 41/2” high and the base measures about 3 3/8” wide by 4 ½” front to back. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. There is some visible glue under one of the rocks but it is hard and most like left from the original manufacturing process.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
