This old hardbound book is titled; Black Boy - A Record of Childhood and Youth. It was written Richard Wright, the same author that wrote “Uncle Tom‘s Children”, Native Son” and “12 Million Black Voices”. It is apparently Richard Wright's account of his own journey, growing up in the woods of Mississippi in the Jim Crow South. It has 228 pages including the intrduction by Dorothy Canfield Fisher. This tenth edition has a 1945 copyright date by Richard Wright. It was published by Harper and Brothers Publishers of New York & London. No dust jacket.
It measures about 5 1/8” by 8 5/16” by 3/4” and is in fairly good condition. The inside pages are crisp and clean with minor wear and soiling. There is some water staining to the outer page tops but it does not penetrate onto the page surface. The hard cover has edge wear with frayed and bent corners and some scuff wear and discoloration. The spine is slightly loose.
