This old postcard may not have the detail usually found in the fine art by Jules Le Roy but it certainly has character. Two young cats with striking green eyes sit behind a small blue plate that, at first, appears to be a saucer of milk but resting on the rim of the dish is a lit cigar. The mottled background and edges appears to be part of the artwork rather than soiling. The signature of J. Leroy is on the lower right. It was printed in Germany. It is addressed and stamped on the back and what appears to be a 1910 postmark.
It measures about 3 1/2” by 5 3/8” and is in nice condition with minor edge wear and two corners that have the top layer torn off.
