This old book has two distinct sections. The beginning reads; The Bible and King Solomon’s Temple in Masonry by John Wesley Kelchner – Illustrated. This section is considered the Masonic Edition – Temple Illustrated. It has several illustrated plates and details the importance of the Bible in Masonry. This section is followed by the Holman Edition of The Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments. At the very front of the book there are presentation pages. The first page is filled in with the name of the Brother this was presented to in 1945 as well as those that were in witness. The following two pages are not filled in. On the front of the cover is the Masonic emblem of a square, compass and letter “G” which represents Freemasonry. The page edges are gold. This issue has a 1940 copyright by A.J. Holman.
It measures about 5 3/8” by 8” by 1 3/8” thick and it is in overall good condition. The inside pages are generally crisp and clean with minimal wear and the spine is tight. The book still has its attached ribbon bookmark. The semi soft cover has minor scuffs and edge and corner wear. The gold on the edges of pages is lightly scuffed.
