This old sterling thimble has a simple design with a plain band and a small tooled band with slanted scrolls. It is marked; Sterling along with a “fouled” anchor hallmark and the number 10 which I believe is the size. I believe this style anchor was used by Goldsmith Stern Co. of N.Y. and Philadelphia during the 1890-1908 period.
It measures about 3/4” high and about 5/8” in diameter and it is in fairly good condition with light needle scratch wear. The stippled area is in good condition with no holes but the dome is somewhat smooth and the dimples are less defined.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
