This is an old tin that use to contain Peterman’s Discovery insect killer. The liquid could be sprayed or poured and was apparently effective for killing bed bugs, roaches and water bugs yet it is also shown as being Sure – Economical – Safe. The front of the can has the original price of 35c and the back of the tin has directions. The side panels advertise Peterman’s Ant Food for killing ants and black beetles. The screw on cap has an attached spout cap that could be used for spraying the liquid as shown in the illustration on the back. This was from the William Peterman, Inc. of New York and it is probably from the 1920's or 1930's.
The empty tin3 7/8” wide by 5 7/8” high excluding the lid by 1 ¾” deep. It is in fairly good condition with some minor scratches and scuff wear and a couple of small dents. The top and screw on lid have some light rust and discoloration.
