This happy Scot with his gray puppy is an old flask or nip made by the Schafer & Vater company of Germany in the early 1900's. He has a wide grin and a wiry blonde beard and is dressed in blue pants, a large black jacket and long orange scarf. On his head he wears a tam and he holds a crooked walking stick in his right hand. His head is the stopper with a cork on the end. On the front at the bottom it reads; Old Scotch and Little Scotch. I have seen this design with the S & V crown mark but this piece doesn't have it and is only stamped; Made in Germany on the bottom and four digits incised on the lower back side. The tam and jacket have a painted matte finish with the rest of the flask being glazed.
It's in very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. It measures about 5 1/2" tall.
