This is a very nice old juice reamer in the form of a clown. The head, from the ruffled collar up, comes off of the spouted base which is also the body of the clown. The top of the clown’s head is pointed and ribbed for juicing the fruit and there are holes at the neck for the juice to enter the pitcher. The clown is smiling and has his eyes closed. He has a bright orange dot on the end of his nose that matches some dots on the body and the shoes that peak out from the bottom. The blue and yellow of his outfit are a nice contrast to the white porcelain. The bottom of the pitcher portion is marked Maple Ware - Made in Japan and there is a maple leaf logo. I believe this fun kitchen piece was from the 1930’s – 1940’s.
It measures about 5 ½” high and about 5 3/8” from the spout to the handle. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage.
