We think it odd today but marshmallows use to come in old tins like this one from F.W. Woolworth Co. of New York. The small tin contained one quarter pound of Superfine Marshmallows. These tins of marshmallows were sold in the candy department of the Woolworth five and dime stores. The lid slips onto the oval tin which is highly decorated in yellow, gold and two shades of blue. Woolco, Woolworth's brand name, is on the opposing ends of the tin.
It measures about 4 1/4" by 2 1/16" by 2 5/8" high and is in nice condition with minor wear. There are some scratches and the paint is worn from the raised edges.
