This old glass beer stein has a metal lid with a porcelain disk that has The Olympia Girl in the center. Around the outer edge of the barmaid it reads; Pilsen Brewing Co. Olympia. The Olympia Girl is shown carrying two steins on a tray and it looks like she is framed by a beer barrel. The back side of the porcelain is marked but difficult to read. I can make out the name Albert and I've been told it actually reads; Albert Pick & Co. along with U.P.W over a bird's head with something in its mouth. The metal portion of the lid that connects to the glass handle of the stein is probably pewter. The Pilsen Brewing Company was apparently based in Chicago, Illinois in the early 1900's.
It measures about 6 3/4" to the highest point which is the "horn" of the lid and about 3 3/4" in diameter and it is in very nice condition with light wear. There is no damage to the porcelain and the colors are very nice. There are a couple of bruises or moons near the bottom back side of the glass as shown in the pictures.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
