This old photograph of a slightly risqué nude is a larger format than an old postcard and fits more closely with the very long cabinet style. It has a dramatically posed, provocative young woman with her hand upon a deco stairway baluster. Her auburn colored hair is short but it blends into the background too much to say more about the style. Her cheeks are blushed and she’s wearing deep red lipstick. The steps of the stairway appear to have a plush maroon carpet. I believe this is considered a hand tinted, gelatin silver print. The style and size are similar to photos by the photographer Charles Wesley Gilhousen (1867-1929) but this has no copyright or other identifying information.
It measures about 3 ¾” by 7 ¾” which doesn’t quite fit the Paris panel or promenade card criteria. It is in good condition with minimal edge and corner wear. The back has some pink smudges and discoloration an which match the tinting of the cheeks.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
