This old celluloid doll is dressed in what appears to be its original red felt outfit. It has painted facial features and molded, painted hair. The arms and legs are jointed but the head is fixed. The right arm is bent so it is in the postion you’d expect for the stereotypical phrase “How”. The outfit is 2 piece, a tunic and what appear to be pants but which are actually leggings. The edges of the arms, legs and bottom of the tunic are cut to resemble fringe. A ribbon belt is glued around the waist. A plaid ribbon is the headband that holds the feather. I don’t find any marks on it but I assume it was made in Japan in the 1930's - 1950's.
He measures almost 7” tall and is in nice condition with minor wear and soiling. The plastic is in good condition with no splits. One leg is a bit longer than the other so he leans slightly to one side.
