This old celluloid tape measure is advertising Angelica Uniforms. They were; Approved by Test and have a seal that reads; American Institute of Laundering - Certified Washable. On the other side of the white and blue tape it reads; Monte Cloth - The King of Fine Uniform Fabrics - Found only in Angelicas. It has a locking mechanism on the edge that is suppose to hold the tape from reacting. It appears that the last patent date on it is 1947 by the Parisian Novelty Co. of Chicago.
It measures about 1 7/16" in diameter and is in good condition with minimal wear. The yellow cloth tape has inches on one side only and is in good condition with very slight fraying for the first 1 1/2". It generally pulls out and retracts well but the locking mechanism doesn't seem to hold it.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
