This little girl is a tribute to those born in February. She’s wearing a white dress with an overskirt that looks like flower petals and the adornment in her hair matches. She has a cute face and her head is tilted for a sweet demeanor. In her arm rests a large flower that probably represents a violet. At the edge of her skirt is a gold ring with a rhinestone mounted on top. Although the stone is pink I suppose it was meant to be lavender or purple to represent an amethyst birthstone. Across the bottom it reads; Amethyst. On the bottom it is stamped with a number, either 1091 or 1601, and there is an original foiled paper label that reads; Made in Japan. I believe she is from the late 1950’s or 1960’s.
She measures about 4 5/8” tall and is in very good condition with minimal wear and no damage. The end of the flower leaf looks like it might have been damaged during manufacturing but it was painted, dark green like the other edges and then glazed over.
