This old book, Tom Brown’s School Days was originally written in 1857 by Thomas Hughes. It is the story of a young boys early school days in Victorian England. The hardbound book is number 58 in a series published as Everyman’s Library, edited by Ernest Rhys For Young People, J.M. Dent & Sons, E.P.Dutton & Co.. It has 276 pages with a linen covered hardcover. The first issue of this edition was April 1906 and this has a reprint date of October 1919. A previous owners name is written on the inside front page with a 1924 date.
It measures about 4 ½” by 6 7/8” by 7/8” and is in fairly nice condition. The inside pages are generally clean with a minimal wear. The cover shows corner and edge wear. And the spine edge is discolored from age.
